#ThankfulAF

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones. This Thanksgiving, I really switched it up for myself. For the first time in my entire life, I didn’t spend Thanksgiving with my family. Instead, I went on a 10-day vacation to Europe! I flew from LA to Copenhagen to meet up with min skat, and from there we traveled to Lisbon, Portugal and Malaga, Spain for the week.

I have so much to write about my week that I am going to have to publish multiple posts, including city guides for both Lisbon and Malaga, and a special post about how I budgeted throughout the vacation. For now what I will say is I loved both Lisbon and Malaga so much, that I would go back today if I could.

I’m now back in Los Angeles, and missing Europe so much!  Even though I didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving the traditional way, I actually think that by doing so I’ve changed my opinion entirely on the Thanksgiving holiday and how I interpret it.

I already had some issues with Thanksgiving based on the reality behind the origins of the holiday (FYI – if you are an adult and still think that Thanksgiving started by Pilgrims and Indians coming together around a table in peace and harmony, you need to pick up a book NOW, please and thank you), and the more I reflect on it, the more I feel that while Thanksgiving is a great holiday in conception, in reality, this holiday should be quite unnecessary right? I mean, why should I wait for the third Thursday in November to express my gratitude and thanks for the blessings in my life? I should be celebrating that year round!

So with that being said, here I am – on December 2 – telling you what I’m thankful for. And it’s a lot! I have the greatest, most supportive family, friends, and loved ones in my life, which will always be #1 to me; I am forever grateful for them. I am thankful for my education, my health, and of course, all of the adventures I’ve been able to go on in my life.

Lastly, I am thankful for Spotify, WINE, and Oprah Winfrey. I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it here for now – I have another 364 days to let you know the rest!

xoxo,

Veesass
